Sam Beal
Ph.D. Student
Sam is a Ph.D. student in the biology department at Dalhousie, co-supervised by Derek Tittensor in the FOME lab. Sam’s Ph.D. research will combine environmental DNA tools, citizen science, traditional ecological knowledge, and species distribution modelling to assess the current state of Nova Scotia’s aquatic biodiversity, changes over the past 70 years, and future shifts under different climate warming scenarios. Her work will examine both aqueous and sedimentary eDNA from freshwater and coastal marine systems.
