Dr. Paul Bentzen

Paul Bentzen is a Professor in the Department of Biology. He is interested in all aspects of biodiversity, but especially aquatic and marine biodiversity, and the natural and human-related factors that influence it. His research uses analyses of genomic and environmental DNA variation and has applications for conservation and management of aquatic species. A current focus of research is the conservation biology of the critically endangered Atlantic Whitefish, one of Canada’s most ancient endemic species, found only in a small area of Nova Scotia.
