Katherine Haché
M.Sc. Candidate
Katherine is an M.Sc. student at Dalhousie University, co-supervised by Dr. Ian Bradbury (DFO). Her project is looking at genomic diversity in the small freshwater species Banded Killifish, whose Newfoundland population is of “Special Concern” as assessed by COSEWIC. Using whole genome sequencing of samples from across Atlantic Canada, her work aims to answer questions about the genomic diversity that exists across this range, as well as genomic impacts of hybridization with Mummichog and subsequent asexual reproduction under certain conditions.
