Beth Watson
Research Associate
Beth Watson is a Research Associate in the Marine Gene Probe Lab. She obtained her MSc at Dalhousie University where she examined environmentally associated chromosomal structural variants in Atlantic Salmon under the co-supervision of Drs. Paul Bentzen and Ian Bradbury. A current focus of research is the conservation biology of the critically endangered Atlantic Whitefish. Her research uses environmental DNA to identify the species critical habitat within its current range and assess suitability of novel habitats for conservation translocation as well as a genomic DNA for identification of common variants and broodstock management.
